Insta Friday

This week started off great. I was refreshed from a wonderful trip to Utah. And then Tuesday happened. I witnessed a terrible accident and it shook me to the core.
I wrote about it over here
When things like that happen, you get perspective real quick. I spent the rest of the week trying to get that image out of my head and just enjoy my littles.
above: my little guy and I playing on our ginormous tree in the front yard. I took some photos of him and then he wanted to snap a photo of me and then for twenty minutes after that he took photos of the grass, leaves, trees, etc. I loved watching him take a picture and get so excited about it!
we recently had this tree trimmed, but it just seems to grow over night!
Katie off to a birthday party for her friends who are twins. They went to an old fashion ice cream parlor and had a blast! this took a lot of faith on my part as I typically go with her to things (that last longer than a few hours and especially if they are far away and it was about an hour away) in case she needs help with her "extras". But she is getting bigger and more independent and she only fell one time (she falls often so that was to be expected)! It was good for her and really good for me to let her spread her wings a little more.
While Katie was at her party, I got a sitter for Carter and picked up this sweet girl from school. She was one out of two kids in her class that got 100% on their math test, so we had to celebrate! Milk shake style!!
breakfast at a new place in town called "The Crooked Duck." The menu was amazing and the company was even better. My Super fun, hilarious and rocker of the color orange Grandma Dode. My mom came as well. I love it when we can get together and chat and laugh. Sure love those ladies!
the other night after the kids  went to bed, Bryant surprised me with a rootbeer float. It was so fun! We drank our treat and watched my favorite show "Once Upon a Time!"
The picture on the right cracked us up because we look like creepers.
I could eat him up!

I won't lie. We frequent McDonald's in the mornings a few times a week. We drop the "gurls" (I need to record how carter says "girls" because it melts me) off and then I go and get a Diet coke and Carter gets an orange juice... and more often than not... a toy.
He is in heaven with the spy kid toys they have there right now.

Ella's Earth Day plants are growing!

homemade pizza

such a helper! She set the table all on her own. I loved that everything was disposable! If you look close, you can see she also included a little water flavor packet for everyone to turn their water into lemonade! She is a little party planner and just talked me into another friend pancake breakfast in your PJ party like we did here.

Dad's been on a surf trip and we are looking forward to his return home so we can celebrate his Birthday this weekend!

speaking of this weekend, I am going to a few sessions of this.
Are you going too? I am excited!

  3. Oh the spreading of the wings. My son and I also frequent McDonalds and sometimes it's all I can do to stay in my seat if he even looks a little lonely. Your kids are precious. I hope you have a great week.

  4. Hey! stumbled upon your blog from Life Rearranged, and love it! will have to find where to follow. i agree - your hair is beautiful. And, totally agree - things like that accident can put it into serious perspective. I am in the process of being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, and it has definitely put into perspective what LIFE is all about.

and, do you write about your daughter much? I'll have to search around to see if I can find out about her. I love that you let her go by herself! I bet she just loved that independence.
