Blackberry Cutie Pies

Today we made cutie pies.
So easy.
So Yummy.
So fun.

My little helper washing the blackberries.
We used small mason jars to bake the individual pies in.

To make it even easier, I cheated and bought pre-made pie crust.

we used the top of the lid to make the pie tops

then we used the rest of the crust to line the jars with

We mixed 2T sugar, 1T flour and a few drops of vanilla to the blackberries.
Then we mixed.
And poured the mixture into the pie crust lined mason jars.
about half way full.
we put the circle tops on and cut out a heart so the pie could breath and not explode.
We drizzled a little melted butter and sugar to the top and
put them on a baking sheet and baked them for 35 minutes at 375.
They smelled amazing and were so yummy!
Such a fun and easy treat that the kids get such a kick out of!

  8. I love the way you show how to do the top crust down inside the jar, instead of on the top rim. That makes it possible to put the lid on and make it easier for gift-giving. The little cut-out is also really cute on the top, and very nice to lay the cut-out piece next to the hole.
